Mustard, my lasting memory of the holiday will be watching the sun rise at Callanish - i will say no more until I do my fieldnotes!

I know what youmean about the ferry crossing - it was the same passing the islands coming out of Oban.

We stayed one night in Ullapool - a very nice place!

I really liked Ullapool. I'd relocate there in a hearbeat if I could figure out a viable way to make a living. But while it's a vibrant little community, you really get a sense that it's on a knife edge and it wouldn't take much to push it into severe poverty.
