Cheers SL.

I was planning going up the A9 route from Inverness and stopping off at a few places on the way.
I want to go and see the Clava Cairns first though and then I have the remainder of the afternoon and evening to get up to Gill's Bay for my morning sailing to St Margaret's Hope.

I was watching the Standing with Stones DVD tonight (mentioned on another thread) which has a fleeting glimpse of the very interesting Cairns at Camster so I think that is one to visit for definate.

The trip to Ullapool will require a little more thought and planing but you have certainly put forward some great suggestions.

Many thanks to you

Ahh of course, hadn't thought about you prob' A9-ing up in the first place - in which case deffo head the way you were thinking.

The Hill O Many Stanes is quite near Camster and good too - but I've always thought I should take a step ladder or something to get a proper view!
