Sorry Folks,

I seem to remember a thread referring to a book about a (neolithic period) Tsunami in Scotland. Does anyone recall the name of this book?

Dunno a book about it but I have seen it mentioned in various books and one excavation report for the Stannergate Dundee . It was Mesolithic though 8,000 bc triggered by a landslide in Norway . Inverness and Dundee , I think ,were the main areas that provided the evidence .

Could it be 'Before Scotland' by Alistair Moffat? I am sure that there was a thread at some time that featured a discussion of this book.

The keyword here is "Storegga":

Ireland seems to have been shielded from the main tsunamis.

Edit: Sorry. I now see that Hob has already mentioned the Storegga events.
