Actually, on looking at the Beranger sketch again, it could be the tomb entrance itself he drew, the measurements he gives would be due to the build up of stone and earth in the entrance area?

Thanks Cian, your input appreciated. My puzzlement lies in why Michael Gibbons would put his professional integrity on the line by making a claim he knows can be refuted. As a former co-director of OPW he must be familiar with the O'Kelly archive and its content.

Just seems a bit odd.
