Solstice

" Not being a solstice person myself I however noted this which I'm sure many will already know about. Is this something quite normal with a solstice on occasion? "

No, it's a once-in-a-lifetime phenomena. I mentioned it last week, as it's at the core of megalithics, but only Nigel seemed interested, and said he'd consider going to Stonehenge, as it is open then. Anyone with gumption is lining cameras and sites up and getting stuff ready, as we speak. (So that's just me then). I followed the moonset, this morning. Spectacular doesn't really cover it. And that's without an eclipse!

I might as well confess, and get grumbled at, that with the amount of snow and nearby Pershore being the coldest place in Britain, I'm going to cry off. Jimit is going to SH for the solstice though and I've suggested he might as well do the moon thing too....

I'd love to be there (sod the sun) and capture it but I've got a big Western horizon here so I should be OK to get a picture of Ritual Stourport from my bedroom.

Go for it SG. Nothing quite like a 'special occasion or happening' taking place in ones chosen hobby/profession to get the juices flowing is there!
