Unusual RA

Apart from the obvious motifs like cups, rings , grooves , that are the recognisable face(s) of rock art it is obvious that there were other markings done on rocks that tend not to get recognised . We have enough problems putting the standard RA into into some sort of time frame , the other stuff will be even worse but we shouldn't ignore it . Maybe another term would be more useful .

I hate those category defying possibles. I've got a thing about fire reddened shallow bowls. There's also a few places near Stonelifter's stomping grounds which I'd hate to have him spot. He'd be very perplexed as to how the clams had managed to open in the way that would leave such weird marks.

Maybe the hole was made to take a pole for a banner - is that Rock Art ?
There's a not-cup right next to some CnRs at Dod Law fort which fits that description:

It's the thing with the feather in it, and is about 4 inched deep. I'm not sure how drilled it is/was, but it'd hold a banner pole no bother.
