I'll think I'll start with British Prehistoric Rock Art

I feel a new addiction coming on - Rombalds moor here I come!!

Don't bother reading any books about it - they all know nothing and are essentially just catalogues (I'll except Richard Bradley from this critique). The Museum of Antiquities - which is soon to be remodelled - has some prehistoric rock art lying about, inside. The museum is on the campus of Newcastle University, just beside Clayton Road. It's not open on a Sunday.

And yeah it helps to get a book to start with. There's lots of RA marked on OS maps but they can't tell you the small-scale or the history. There are plenty undiscovered too (!) so once you know what you're looking for, you'll be looking everywhere for it I promise ;)

Which is tricky to find, a bit confusing in nomenclature, but pretty damn good for some solid grid refs and maps.
