Theres bundles of such stones about SL, several spring to mind on Ilkley Moor, Barningham Moor, Holgate (S of Barningham), Low Crags, Lordenshaw (I think), Old Bewick & Middleton Moor.

Heres a few that also have RA on:

The Old Bewick stone is very difficult - there's a group of three of these marks on one side of the stone - seemingly integrated with the overall design - and a single one, on the other side of the stone. The second and third stones appear to have iron chisel marks (with distinct 'chattering').

With many of these the cups seem to be along a fault line like this one: http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/post/41209

This either means they are quarry marks and were put across the fault to make breaking it easier, or they are enhancements to the fault. Thanks for pointing those out. Until now I thought they were unique to Co. Wicklow.

These ones seem to be on a fault.
