My reason for posting these bullaun stones was because of their possible connection to rock-art. As you say it is more likely that in areas that bullauns that are earth-bound there is a better chance of there being rock-art in the vicinity.
However if we only put up the ones that are earth-bound then it is probable that people will waste their time looking for the ones that arent earth-bound again and again.
I have a few sites of dubious antiquity as it is and it doesnt really bother me one way or the other what is done with them. For the longer term view of rock-art in Ireland I think mapping where the different types of bullauns stone are is useful.
Maybe we should have a different category on the drop down menu for earth-bound bullauns rather than just bullauns.

Hi Bawn
I'm not advocating removal of these sites just a flag to indicate that they may not be prehistoric, the same flag that is applied to all unprovenanced sites on TMA.

Is there a definite correlation between rock art/prehistoric sites and bullauns? There is definitely seems to be a correlation with christian sites. I guess it would make an interesting study.
