Anyone ever hear of it?
It is meant to be a 19m diameter submerged henge. This is according to Uriels Machine which I am reading at the moment. (Puts it east of Tralee in Kerry)
Checked archaeology.ie and there are about 5 enclosures to the east of Tralee that could be it.
Anyone with more info? they note Archaeology Ireland vol 12 no.6 issue 46, winter 1998 as its source.
Hi Bawn , I've just ahd a read of the article , it's by Michael Connolly and Tom Condit , it is mostly concerned with a possible "water cult" associated with ten hengiforms in the Lee Valley . There are two enclosures east of Tralee , at Ballingowan ,one , 63 m in diameter floods to a depth of over 1m most of the year . There is no mention of a 19m diameter henge or astronomy . The henge closest to Tralee is at the junction of two tributaries of the Lee whilst the other , 1.5 Km furhter east is just to south of one of the above tributaries . Hope that helps .
