Was looking at a new OS map I bought recently of the area around killorgin and killarney. I noticed just to the west of Killorgin there is marked a site for Rock Art in what looks like a graveyard (bit ropey I know, just hoping to get some conversation going! It might be map 78) just at the edge of town.
I was wondering has anyone been and is it still there?

I asked Blaze O'Connor about that site, which, if it's the same one, is near where the Dingle peninsula meets the mainland. She surveyed most of the rock art recorded in the area and couldn't locate this one. I can check that again but I'm pretty sure. There's a lot of RA sites around there that were recorded in the late 1800's and early 1900's but subsequently could not be found again.

If you browse this site http://www.europreart.net/preart.htm many of the sites that could and couldn't be located are illustrated.

Popped in here yesterday for a look, pic added below. The stone is probably a bit bigger than it looks and the markings are very worn though the cup marks are easily visible, rings not so much.
