1.5 miles away, how far away is the new stonehenge visitors centre. ?
Plus the Stonehenge area is flat as opposed to the Causeway which is is below 200 + ft cliffs .
I'll be honest Tiompan and say I've never visited N.I. or the Giant's Causeway. I understand from a friend who lived in N.I. for a few years that part of the enjoyment of visiting GC is walking along the cliff tops. I can't imagine the NT will win this one as they are up against some powerful and wealthy people. Besides which it is probably too late in the day to make any difference.

I am just a resigned observer noting that big money is the winner yet again.

To appreciate the causeway itself you do have to get onto it or at least close . The walk above is fine but quite a different experience .
I don't like or play golf and would never wish to go to a golf club , the vast majority in my view take up too much space just to cater to the pleasure of few whilst effectively keeping punters off what is in effect intensively indulged chemical lawns . So I would probably prefer it wasn't there , but that's just my very prejudiced worthless opinion .
I can think of worse .
Well if it's 1.5 miles away and can't even be seen from the Steps I don't see a problem at all. I play golf as I've already said and love both the game and the beautiful layout of most courses I've played on and it has to be better in appearance than say a housing estate! Just one other thing. What is actually 1.5 miles away, the hotel or the golf course, because that could go in the opposite direction?
