1.5 miles away, how far away is the new stonehenge visitors centre. ?
Plus the Stonehenge area is flat as opposed to the Causeway which is is below 200 + ft cliffs .I am just a resigned observer noting that big money is the winner yet again.
I don't like or play golf and would never wish to go to a golf club , the vast majority in my view take up too much space just to cater to the pleasure of few whilst effectively keeping punters off what is in effect intensively indulged chemical lawns . So I would probably prefer it wasn't there , but that's just my very prejudiced worthless opinion .
I can think of worse .
It's not just a golf course in this case ...
Another quote from the NT statement:
We have significant concerns about the scale of this development, which includes a 120 bedroom four storey hotel, 75 residential units, retail units, bars and restaurants, a golf club house, other ancillary buildings and parking. The development would mean the permanent loss of significant tracts of arable farmland and would subsume all of the proposed Bushfoot Dunes Site of Local Nature Conservation Interest into the golf course.
