Wow... I just logged in intending to ask for help regarding trip to Ireland in July. We're planning 2/3 days in Dublin area, but can't decide where to spend the rest of the week. We were thinking Sligo/Donegal (went to Sligo in 2001), but are now gravitating more toward Cork. We'll have a car and about 4 days.

Really I'm stuck in a big quandary. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Jane xx (different one!)

If you're into circles then it has to be Cork/Kerry.

If you like passage tombs and dolmeny-type things the Sligo/Donegal is a good bet.

If you want stunningly moon-like scenery and hard walking to some tombs then try The Burren in Clare.

Those are your three 'popular and easy' choices.

There are zillions of tombs in Cork & Kerry area but they're practically all wedge tombs. Anyon going to Cork should definitely get to Labbacallee wedge tomb ... it's rather large.

There's loads around Dublin that isn't all that well known - or are you staying in Dublin just for the Guiness?

If I'm around then I may be able to show you a couple of the Dublin bits and bobs. They're worth taking an afternoon to see ...
