Beara Peninsula

Carry on (roughly) west past the circle to the far side of the field, and if I remember right there's a little gap into a tree lined grove. It's inside here at the far side beyond the stone and well. Beautiful spot.

This was a couple of years ago though, so it probably is buried under gorse by now.
I must go back sometime soon again and see it.

Cool. Thanks for that info. I'll have to check it out at some point.

When you go back there look out for the lovely lady lying on the horizon! You have to look hard in this photo, because of the tree on the ridge. The tree has been cut down now, so it's much easier to see her now.

It's actually this hill - http://www.megalithomania.com/show/image/2927 - but from Cullomane it just sits on the top of the near horizon. Very, very nice.

That's uncanny.

I must have checked your website before I visited last time but not very well. Though I went with the information that there was a sleeping figure on the horizon that's clearly not the feature (to the south) that I confidently indicated to my companion!

Crap.
