I've looked through the Donegal Archaeological Inventory and many are not listed under the names given. Where I have found them I have marked them ARCH INV.

1. nr Muff village

5. Should this be Stroove not Shroove? ARCH INV. Two stone both 1.6m tall overlooking Lough Foyle. C 673 430

6. ARCH INV. maybe this one - 1.63m tall x 1.1m wide; N-S; Several cupmarks on both faces. C437 474

7. & 8. ARCH INV. Actually three standing stones in Cashel townland 3miles south of Carndonagh. 2.18m tall @ C 468 424. 1.62m tall @ C 469 422. 1.35m tall @ C 464 418

10. Cloghorna (Ballyliffin)

11. ARCH INV. Marked 'Cloghtogle' on 1900 revision of OS map. Some boulders and rocky outcrop are entirely natural'. C 373 452

12. ARCH INV. Two entries for Roosky.
First: standing stone 2.3m tall. Now a fence post covered in modern graffiti. C 378 456
Second: Alignment of 10 stones; NE-SW; ranging from 1.8m tall to .25m tall. Some quartz stones in there.

13, 14 & 15. ARCH INV. Just entries two for Gransha, three stones:
C 357 309 has two stones: 2.77m tall & 1.05m tall
C 357 310 in next field 1.8m tall. There is a second stone mentioned here also, but now lost.

17. Desertegney (Old Rectory field)

18. ARCH INV - 3.08m high x 1.13m wide x .38m thick; N-S; overlooking Lough Swilly. C 298 386. (looks good!)

19. ARCH INV ( under LIAFIN not Leophin ??) - 2.4m tall x .7m wide x .5m thick. overlooking Lough Swilly. C 327 373.

20. ARCH INV - 1.93m tall x 1.24m wide x .55m thick; NE-SW. In pasture to N of river. C 376 365

21. http://irishmegaliths.megalithomania.com/zCarnaghan.htm . Known locally as 'The Standing Stones', but in fact the remains of a portal tomb.

Not sure. He mentions the place twice in the book, both occasions as Shroove, which he writes as being "beyond Greencastle lies Shroove...and Inishowen Head with its lighthouse."
