robish,

Do you have off-list contact details - it may pursuade more to respond.

As for me I love visiting the site and Moor but tend to approach the circle with some trepidation, particularly after certain dates, in fear of what I might find.

On far too many occasions the stones are covered in candle wax dripped on by people who apparently care for the stones. Makes my blood boil.

If you are lucky enough to get the site without other human attendees then it can be fantastic - otherwise it's pretty like other 'tourist' circles.

Cheers

Hey up,

I'da sorta thought it was more likely to be people who don't understand the damage tea candles and wax can do.....rather than people who apparently care for the stones to be doing it.

Then again the piss poor turn out for last Friday's Stanton protest march to Haddon Hall kinda points to how many folk there are out there who really do care for the stones.

I've been going to the 9 Ladies for solstices' since the wall used to be surround them......and it's always attracted the nubbers year in year out......but they're are just nubbers and you can always try and educate 'em about candles/fires....if not wrestle 'em.

nice one
stu.

Thanks for the suggestion about off-line contact details.
