It'll be a terrible shame if the quarry goes ahead.
Nine Ladies is one of they places where, as soon as you walk around it, you can see why 'they' built it 'there'. The surrounding area seems to be as much part of the circle as the stones and the immediate ground round the stones.

It's one of those circles where the lay of the land almost leads up to it in a way.
It really is a spectacular area and the stones are harmonising with it. Be terrible if it's all quarried to death.

I've signed things in the past about this development (have mates in Buxton which is not too far). Oddly enough a mate texted me yesterday to say the protest had taken something if a bad turn.

Paws and stuff crossed!

I'm in Buxton.
As you say Stanton Moor has a marvelous aspect.
That's probly why bronze age ppl chose it as a burial site. (can be seen all around) here I am
Evidence of many barrows and four stone circles. Nine Ladies is but one. other 3, little evidence remaining.

there is some evidence of earlier neolithic activity on Stanton.
not far away is Nine Stones Close. other side of Robin Hoods Stride.
only four stones remain but they are big + of the neolithic. Well worth a visit.

this is only my second post. only just registered although have know this site for ages now.
I feel I must join in now re, Stanton Moor
