I think the problem was/ is the site had been heavily christianised over the years by the monks cross shafts cut into the graves, crosses carved into the lids etc...
The nearby graveyard is a curiosity too.

Thanks - not much time though ...

Your lozenge-marked stone on Harper's Lane is trowel marks in cement. I've found the remains of the cairn on Rivington Pike though, which is more interesting. Just a low circular bank, roughly to the north of the Victorian tower !
