Will be interesting to see what they dig up there, it's only down the road from me. Certainly looks more promising than the ones in Newport such as the Basseleg hill fort, which is impossible to get to (nothing to see there apparently anyway) and the Gaer hillfort which has been completely demolished by Newport Council who built a golf course on it which has now been left to rack and ruin.

Captain,
when you say Basseleg Hillfort do you mean Tredegar Fort?
If so, you can access it via Gaer Road. There is actually more to see there than Caerau Hillfort. It has obvious ditches/ramparts to see although it has become the local unofficial dumping ground! At Caerau it is mainly the later medieval ramparts and later ruined church to see.

I don't kniw about the one under a golf course?

regards,
Carl
