I forgot about the downs on the drive between Avebury and Adams Grave. They have a similar feel too. Avebury and Adams Grave are similar in landscape, but Lansdown is an elevated high down, so it's not just about similarity of landscape. I love those places, which are a far cry from my usual haunts in Lancashire, and, mostly, the Cumbrian mountains. I used to think that if I ever played golf then it'd be best played at the Lansdown club, especially since there are antiquities on the course.
