Is the get-orf-my-land circle really private? or can access be granted if i ask very nicely?

is it really closed on Sundays?

what's the pub like?

anyone recommend local(ish) accommodation?

Entrance is £1 and its closed on Xmas day.
The Druids arms pub is ok and is worth a visit to see the Cove stones in its garden.
I don't know of any B&B's in the area, sorry.

when we went last year, there was an honesty box for donations, & a small English Heritage leaflet. No-one else around, but the pub was closed.

The field was full of the biggest cow pats I have ever seen, so wellies may be advisable!

it's a top day out, in spite of the excessive use of margerine in the Druid's Arms' sandwiches

I went on a Sunday and had no probs getting in - you sort of walk thru someone's farmyard to get there, which feels a bit awkward, but I'm sure they're used to it.

Allow plenty of time for the stones - there's a lot to see when you really start looking.

I hope the pic I posted of the 'closed' sign back in circa 1993 didn't cause any confusion. Parts of the stones were sometimes closed in the past but as others have said, it isn't a problem now. Enjoy!
