Stonehenge and its Environs 134

Stonehenge carpark, the two stones with metal rods supporting them from behind, just before you get to the entrance of the visitor centre.
Are they for real, or just a touchy feely thing for the tourists?

aren't they supposed to illustrate something about how the bluestones and the sarsens hold heat differently? why that should be relevant I can't think at the moment.

it's probably to make you feel better that you can't go up and touch the stones any more eh.

There supposed to show the difference between Sarcen and Blue Stone.
I'm wondering what they will do with them when the visiters centre gets demolished next year.

I think this bluestone has a twin on Mynachlog-Ddu common in Pembrokeshire where it stands as a mon ument - with a little plaque too.
