I'm really digging the idea of "recreating a 5,000 year old tradition" which was ditched hundreds of years ago and is now going to feature a "solstice fairy".
I'm loving how people can purchase a lantern kit of £5 and that they can get a refreshment for £2 afterwards if they have already purchased a lantern kit. And the idea of craft stalls selling stuff to the "fairy followers" is simply breathtaking. Should be really magical... what with the "real" Olympic Torch coming to Amesbury next year. A "real" legacy for the future... Stonehenge, Olympics, Fairy, Craft Fair, Community Collage. A confusing discourse on which to base a new "tradition"...

We do things a bit differently up here...

Oooo scary Scots burning boats and stuff, ;) ;) must admit down south we're a bit soft with our festivals; not sure anyway that you can resume a tradition after 5000 years - even if we knew what that tradition was in the first place....
