May I personally thank Mike Parker Pearson for his calm,lucid and informative posting about Bluehenge/Bluestonehenge. It seems that a journalist jumped into print without consulting him and there was no "cover up" only that all the results from the excavation were not in and the archaeologists were rightly cautious in not jumping to spurious conclusions.
Looking forward to coverage in more reputable publications and the documentaries promised for later.

MPP sounds sort of OK with the whole thing - not ideal timing but no great disaster.

Also a lot of the DM article seems to be a bad transcript of the Time Team special (with MPP) from last year (?) - the only addition being the discovery of the ring - MPP was getting very exited by the bluestone site on the TT special so no surprise he's been digging around there?
