Do bees sleep though, that's always puzzled me. Errrrr, anyway! The direction is basically the same as the part of the avenue nearest to the stones, roughly NNE but I didn't think to get the compass out when I was there (yes there's one on my keyring sadly). It doesn't obviously align on anything but if you carried on straight you would hit the cursus about midway along.
