Perhaps, if the pigs are from the Beaker period, then they may have been fed on spent mash grains. This is like the residue from making beer - and I doubt the process was very efficient then. Of course, there are other agents which rot teeth other than sugar. The only pigpen I know is that one in the Grateful Dead .
