The catalyst of the 2012 Olympics will, I hope, concentrate everybody’s minds.
In other words, Stonehenge is some minor adjunct in the form of a tourist attraction for the 2012 Olympics? How low do these people have to sink before they realize that Stonehenge was around a couple of millennia before the first Olympics and will no doubt still be around when the final flame of that final game has at last (and thankfully) gone out.

No more money please for the Olympian farce - put our money where our history is.

Though I quite like Ellwood's thought of the minister being sacrificed on the druidical altar for the government's failure, or at least its ability to waffle on, to do anything about Stonehenge. How did an old stone circle get caught up with the Olympic debacle I don't know; the way is very simple now, find a site for the new visitor centre - pay up - build it and close the road...
if we can run round London with the symbolism of an ancient Greek torch to open the games, perhaps we should be allowed a sacrificial minister or two at Stonehenge ;)
