Must admit I heaved an enormous sigh of relief, even though it is still to be officially 'pronounced' by the government, perhaps the outrage over Tara (and that battle aint over yet) influenced the powers that be..All that money down the drain - there's no answer to that..

Everyone will just love the reasoned and sensible replies posted on the South Today web site!

Jim.

All that money down the drain....

Think of it as the cost of the long process of getting the government to finally see sense.

Some of it though is heatbreaking. Like the £17 million (17x the Silbury budget) that was spent on architects fees and buying land for EH's new visitor centre before planning permission had been obtained! The government recently made it crystal clear that there would only be perrmission for the visitor centre if the tunnel scheme went ahead, so now that money has presumably all been spent needlessly.

All that money down the drain....
And it doesn't stop there - a tenth review is now on the cards!

Thanks for the news c-f2 (and the links) - have posted them on the Stones Mailing List.
