Well I had a little nibble at the Lib Dems about Stonehenge as well -
Dear Mr Holmes,
May I please take issue with your quoted statement about Stonehenge: "I urge the Government to adopt the tunnel scheme approved by the public."
In the view of my organisation and the great majority of informed heritage and archaeology organisations the option likely to be selected, the short tunnel, is most certainly not the appropriate one and we very strongly oppose it. We have laid out our case in some detail here -

I do hope your party can revisit this issue. I have to say I feel your stance is in step with the government but equally certainly not in step with most informed opinion - for instance .... blah blah blah - all of whom are opposed to the short tunnel option.
So the Lib Dems reckon the public approves the tunnel scheme and urges the govt. to go ahead. What can yer do?
No reply so far of course. Filed under Oh shit, pass the bottle, I suppose.
