Seems to me the only scientific evidence is that it moisturises. If you think Truth is akin to Moisturising you should maybe switch to meths like me. ;)

I don't know what William was on but I'd like some.

Did I tell you I'm (pretty) sure he stole the medieval windows of Stamford church? My investigations are ongoing.

They might be in East Ham Churchyard ;-)

"... distaining any vain glorious monument (Stukeley) was interred in an unmarked grave on either the north or the south side of St Mary Magdalene churchyard in East Ham, Essex. Stukeley died of a stroke. A year or two earlier he had visited a friend, Joseph Sims, vicar of East Ham, "When I die"' he asked, "may I have a grave under the green turf, and will you see to it that no stone or other memorial is raised above me?" It is a fitting coincidence that, though their graves cannot be identified both John Aubrey in Oxford and William Stukeley in East Ham lie in the bounds of churches dedicated to St Mary Magdalene, patroness of students and men whose lives have been spent in contemplation."*
