Just a thought..

Shallow draft barges and boats (River going) are a entirly different animal to the deep drafted sea going craft..

I would like to see a computer model of a sea going barge that could make it so far inland to Stonehenge..

A couple of dry pine logs would do - they'd need to be dried out from time to time though. A custom made dugout would also serve - towed like riveted stell sheet barge is today - and would leave no archaeological trace.
