this may make some of you jealous but here goes.
I'm lucky enough to work in the Bodleian Library, the library for the University of Oxford. we have a vast collection of stuff, so much that our storage areas go underground and there are tunnels under some of Oxfords busiest streets to link it all up. an amazing place. we have the original drawings that stukeley did for both stonehenge and avebury, and they are less than a minutes walk away from where i am now typing this at.

And what a fantastic day can be spent browsing the Gough folders!
Do you happen to know how many Shperical drawings Stukeley made that still exist?
I have unwrapped one of the Sanctuary so that it can be viewed as a panoramic

As Stukeley has been dead for more than 70 years, the stuff is out of copyright.
Is there any movement to scan this stuff and put it on the web?

Project Gutenburg http://www.gutenberg.org/ would be happy to have it.

I work just round the corner from you on Cornmarket. Is there any chance someone (like me) without a library ticket could get access to look at the Stukeley documents for an hour one lunchtime if they knew someone who worked at the Bod (like you). Get my drift?!

Stukeley's manuscript of Stonehenge as discussed above is in Cardiff !

BTW Other Stukeley manuscript material is held by Corpus Christi Cambridge, Freemasons Hall London, the Wiltshire Archaeological and Natural History Society Devizes Wiltshire, The Royal College of Surgeons, the Royal Society, the Society of Antiquaries, and the Welcome Institute.

Let's not forget Stukeley's drawing of the Ninestones of 1723. There are only 8 stones in the picture.
