What did people think? I watched both sections, the second on BBC4 shortly after the first. I found it suprisingly reasonable compared to other programs of this kind. I thought the NT came out of it reasonably well, unlike English Heritage...

it was nice to see the people celebrating the solstice too - I found it quite energising.

I've only seen the first half of the prog so far, but found it very interesting as I know one or two of the people involved.

The health and safety aspect isn't really EH's fault, as that's the way it is for all gatherings and festies now, but they did come across as overly officious.

EH's biggest fear is being seen as the organisation that allows the festival to re-establish itself... they are terrified of that. Hence their refusal to open Stonehenge for two days over the 21st/22nd. They are scared stiff of people camping overnight and all the critisism they'd receive.

I don't see the harm in opening Stonehenge for two days myself. The place earns more than enough throughout the rest of the year to accomodate such a thing. NT came out of it looking quite mellow really!

I thought the film itself was quite fair handed, but made a bit much of the supposed protest to introduce a bit of drama. That was only down to one person and it wasn't anything to do with Brian.... Brian actually tried to dissuade the person responsible for that.

I thought the best bit was seeing Clewes Everard of EH and Jeremy Wickham of Wiltshire Police holding hands and singing a peace song!!
