What do you think, please? It's about a metre high. It looks rather old doesn't it?

I do expect it isn't old enough. But I felt chuffed to find it, it's not on any maps I've found. Any thoughts are welcome.

How far was it from the tumulus on Kingsdown? which is of course near to the old roman road from Bath to Chippenham.... Never hunted that barrow out it must be on the golf course somewhere. I use Getamap ;(

I don't think anything quite beats the feeling of "finding a stone"...even if it turns out to be of a more modern use than we hope....I haven't looked through all the replies, so apologies if this has been asked already, but have you looked through the hole from either side...does it align with anything?
