A long shot…

The springfield one is mentioned by Castleden in his 'Neolithic Britain'. Itwas by the river at TL726066, ith the ditches only1m deep, running SW-NE for 670m! They were 40m apart, and within them was a C-shape (originally circular?) set of post holes, diameter 25m.

Also for Essex he mentions:

Stone Point (Walton on the naze) TM248257 - a settlement site of pit dwellings
Tye Field TM088308 - a flattened settlement site
Orsett Causewayed Enclosure TQ653806 - overlooking the Thames valley, surrounded by three concentric ditches (probably nothing there as only discovered by aerial survey)
Grange Farm Longbarrow, Lawford - maybe a longbarrow, maybe not - it was 1m high and 50m long 'in 1970'.
Little Bromley Henge TM274089 - a 20m diameter circular enclosure with two entrances and a 3.5m wide ditch. Visible on air photographs but not excavated.

So I doubt there's much to actually see at any of these...
but I hope you have a nice time and get out somewhere nice. Mind the rude boys and the turbulence from their Halfords spoilers. Hatfield forest is nice if you fancy something a bit more 'modern'.

Thanks for taking the time to dig those out. I'll check the map refs tonight and see if any are within spitting distnace of our route. If they are, I might swing by and see what I can see...
