hi tom, yeah when i do hdr images i always use photomatix pro , it is the best. not sure if many folks realise i very rarely use it on my rock art shots as it can give a weird texture.
Thanks. I've tried that but didn't like it. Probably because I have to use it on my laptop, which has a crap screen - I'm a Mac man.

the shots from cairnharrow are staight from the camera with some saturation added.
The range of light in this is impressive. Hard to believe it's not HDR - http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/7655/cairnharrow.html . Not sure my 1DS would give me that at 100 ISO without hot & cold spots, even with a couple of flashes*.

Hi Tom,

I actually tried running a single raw through Photomatix and it does give an impressive image, i might post it on later, but i do think it looks to over the top. The secret i think to the straight from the camera shot i took was not just the flash, but the quality of the sun light was very special.

Hi Tom,

This is the HDR version - not as nice in my opinion.
