Yeah it does have high speed sync (or focal plane as they call it), now that I think of it though I realise I've never fully checked if they have extended it to wireless commander mode in the last couple of years. I know my D200 definitely didn't, wireless maxed out at 1/250s and all the radio wireless transmitters I've tried barely scrape 1/200s reliably. The D700 will sync at 1/320s with auto focal plane above that when the flash is in the hotshoe but I've never gotten it to work above 1/320s wirelessly.

Unless I've missed something this would be a very tempting reason to switch to Sony, they did inherit the Minolta flash system afterall and it was Minolta that pioneered all this wireless flash stuff back in the day.
