Hey- it's Discovery and Excavation Scotland. It's the annual journal of the Council for Scottish Archaeology and is chock-full of reports and discoveries from the preceeding year (this years is 204 pages). Have a look here;

thanks Martin. it seems so obviously a standing stone, I'm surprised it's not been brought up before. which are your entries (don't know your surname). Incidentally, look at the number of entries from tiompan (G Currie)

I didn't think you were paying attention! must've been all that organic ale. West Highland Way is in 2 weeks, I'm moving house this weekend
