Caves are generally formed by erosion, carved by the elements.

I'm with the erosion camp on this one, although some might have had help.

You should see the wind-sculptured rocks up on top of the hill behind Cuthbert's cave.

Made of the same sandstone that kettley, chatton etc are made from. Worrying.
