Why isn't swinside on the Mod Ant site yet? or is it hiding under a different name.

Swinside is an odd one and incidentally almost identical in design to Ballynoe stone circle in Couty Down, Ireland. Both circles lie on the same lattitude, which is nice!

I think the only reason I don't rate castlerigg is becaise I only ever got there during the day and it was always loaded with people. Yes, the setting is great, but I was never able to enjoy the site. Also got some iffy vibes there.

One day, when I've done all there is to do in Ireland I may well come back and check it out on a full moon or something. We'll see.

It's in the Modern Antiquarian book as 'Sunkenkirk', so I've added 'Swinside' as an alternate name for it...

''Also got some iffy vibes there.''
I often wonder sometimes, is it the site (yes in some cases) or the people /groups around it? i find it very confusing at times especially when its a 'busy' site, and after visiting alot, it just makes me wonder which it is that causes that 'iffy' vibe at times.?i was like that at stonehenge, like it had lost some of its mystery and was abit full of mixed up /confusing vibes off the amount of people it sees every day?
anyway am waffling BEFORE i have a drink tonight!

I agree when it's full of tourists etc. But if you get the chance you absolutely, positively have to go late at night when there's no one around. Then you'll get it!
