Absolutely agree with that statement and like the best advice given to all tourist

"Take only Photographs, leave only footprint"

On the matter of the "smelly, hippy earth child" bit; although I was a 60's child, I do take a bath once a year whether I need to or not, I have a No' 3 hair cut (short), generally wear jeans and T-shirts and have played the odd game of rugby in the dim & distant past....so I would like to think that description doesn't really apply to me.
