The Great Bank

Personally, I have never liked 'Silbaby', but haven't been able to come up with an alternative.

Whether we like it or not, the nick-name 'Silbaby' for the mound against The Great Bank has been adopted by people round here and so should feature as an alternative title.

I have no strong objections to 'The Great Bank', though it doesn't sound thrillingly megalithic or make specific reference to it's unnatural, mound-like qualities...

How about 'The Great Bank Mound' or 'The Mound of The Great Bank'?

I dunno!

When Pete G first brought the mound to our attention earlier in the year there were several names put forward as to what it should be called; among them was 'The Silbury Mound'.

I've never liked the name 'Silbaby' A) because it's hard enough to get the authorties to do anything as it is without giving them extra ammunition in the form of a 'silly' name (no pun intended) and B) the name 'Silbaby' suggests that the mound is later than Silbury - we do not know that. TGB may be older than Silbury itself.
