What about Silbaby in relation to these? By my reckoning it would be about a quarter of the way in at the top of the picture?

Has anyone read Whittle's 'Sacred Mound, Holy Rings'? I just wondered if that would have anything useful in, as it's about Silbury and the enclosures (and Silbaby being between the two...)

Dave Field showed me the EH plan of excavated sites in that area when he visited.
One arm of the palisade finished within feet of the mound.
Dave said it made him wonder if the theories that the arms of the enclosure pointed to EKLB were wrong and that they in fact pointed towards the mound and spring.

I re-read Whittles 1991 Antiquity paper last night and have nothing further to add to the knowlege of Silbaby but Whittles comments are interesting and reflect other views expressed here.

"To have missed one enclosure so near to other major monuments may have been bad luck, but to miss two begins to look like carelessness".

"The full extent of the archaeological records in this flagship area are not known, simply because we have not systematically examined them".
