I was thinking more of a ring barrow than a ring cairn, kinda like this one

Don't know...still the question that there is no sign of stone in the make up of the "henge"..

With the ring barrow, would there have been a burial in the centre, below ground level? As far as I know there not something that we find in Cornwall.
