I think you're right- what strikes me is the similarity between many ancient cultures and their art. Look at the amount of places around the world where spirals and labyrinth designs have been found- they're all over the place. One of my mates did a bit of research before getting a labyrinth tattoo and came across a fabby book (can't remember what it was though-doh!) which was full of designs from around the globe and all very very similar,
