Walton Basin

close

Just received my latest copy of the CADw magazine.

There is an article in it talking about the Walton Basin in Radnorshire. The publication of an 80 page booklet is now available telling 'the dramatic story of the uncovering of a 'unparalleled' prehistoric site'. These include Bronza Age Barrows, Iron Age Hillforts and a later medieval town.

Copies are available (for free) from the CPAT office in Welshpool or by sending a cheque for £2.00 made payable to Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust - 41 Broad Street, Welshpool, Powys SY21 7RR

Sounds like a bargain to me?

Absolutely. Many thanks for the info Carl.

Sounds worth a look, that area is amazingly packed with stuff, there's a recently discovered causewayed camp as well as the enormous Hindwell enclosure, plus the wonderful Whimble and Four Stones of course.

There was a good feature about this in the May/June issue of BA too.

Got home from work yesterday and my book had arrived - i only sent off for it on Monday! Have had a quick glance through it, looks very good with lots of colour photos. Well worth the £2.00 - bargain!
