as previously mentioned i am scouting out sites in the brecon beacons, and may well be here until the end of august.

if any one fancies joining in please contact me as i am doing it all by bicycle and am losing the use of my legs.

there is a stone circle marked on the map halfway up a mountain and the park rangers can't tell me what it is called altho one thinks he has been to it and it has no name. So perhaps if someone comes along with me we could name it and if we get lost on the mountain and run out of water we can drink each others urine before dying of exposure.

...anyway, if you are close enough to visit and would like to spend a day harassing landowners tracking down long chambered cairns please feel free to get involved.

Hi Elderford,

Sounds like you're doing sterling work down south.

If you can get a grid reference for your mystery circle then the (ever so groovy) CARN database will do the rest for you...

It's a wonder living in Wales!

PS. If you go there, please email the webmaster ([email protected]) and complain about the stupid pop-up box thingy! It's driving me mad.

we're planning a trip to the Beacons over the August B/H, and extremely versatile mountain bikes will in attendence (see "vice" thread on U-Know)

dunno if I'll be about, but contact [email protected] anyway

I don`t think you`ll find a more comprehensive book on the Brecon Beacons than this one.

Everything`s in it, palaeolithic sites, caves, chambered tombs, barrows, cairns, stone circles, stone rows, standing stones, burnt mounds and settlements.....all of them.
