Kenward comes from Kingsward farm nearby.
It is a boundary marker and meeting place hence a Saxon Hundred was named after it.

I think it's some way distant from the farm. It was moved sometime in the late 1800s. The hollow in which it lies is a R***n quarry from which they took the chalk to build the nearby Chute Causeway.
