Ooh, 'eck - looks like whoever wrote the Bible was obsessed by 60 cubits... As I appear to be...
Adam was 60 cubits tall (really???)
King Nebuchadnezzar made a golden idol 60 cubits tall
The Temple of Solomon was 60 cubits long
The Ark was 60 cubits wide
The Temple of Herod was 60 cubits wide (with various other aspects of it 60 cubits long/high/wide/deep)
And of course the Temple of Soloman...
I can't be bothered to look any further, but it does seem to pop up rather a lot... I wonder if there IS a significance? Or if it's just a nice sounding proportion to put into a story?
